Your Position

As our Communications Specialist, you will play a key role in supporting, implementing, and coordinating communication initiatives for a variety of our association clients. Your efforts will focus on increasing visibility and strengthening member engagement. You’ll be part of the Marketing and Communication team, while also working closely with our IT department and association and event coordinators.

What you’ll do

  • Coordinate and manage the production and distribution of newsletters and email campaigns for our clients. This includes gathering content from client teams, preparing materials in email templates, overseeing distribution, and analyzing performance metrics.
  • Support the planning and execution of communication and digital media strategies. Help create and design a range of digital content, such as visual graphics, videos, social media posts, blog articles, and promotional materials across projects for multiple clients.
  • Develop and maintain brand and communication guidelines, ensuring consistency in tone of voice and visual identity.
  • Contribute to the development of Status Plus’ communications strategy alongside our corporate communications team.
  • Assist in writing and publishing news articles and other website content for clients, while ensuring content is regularly updated and relevant.
  • Contribute to enhancing both client and Status Plus websites (WordPress, Joomla and others) by working with our IT, Media & Design teams on SEO and design improvements.
  • Work closely with our designers to support the development and distribution of promotion and other marketing materials for our clients including flyers, posters, and signage.
  • Support the communications around live and virtual events and programs.
  • Manage content scheduling to ensure timely distribution across all communication channels.

This job description is not exhaustive so you will be expected to carry out additional duties and tasks as assigned.

What you

  • You have 2–4 years of experience in communications, graphic design, or marketing, ideally in a nonprofit sector.
  • You hold a relevant Associate or Bachelor’s degree (MBO+/HBO) in Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
  • You bring experience in creating and supporting the development of digital content.
  • You have basic design skills and experience with photo/video editing and graphic design tools like Adobe Creative Suite or Canva.
  • You have experience using content management systems (CMS) such as WordPress and Joomla, and email marketing platforms like MailChimp.
  • You are familiar with social media platforms such as LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, and X, and understand how to use them effectively.
  • You have strong writing, editing, and verbal communication skills in English; Dutch is a plus.
  • You collaborate well across departments.
  • You take initiative, have a can-do attitude, and follow through on tasks to completion.
  • You are highly organized and capable of working independently.
  • You bring strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • You are comfortable working in a dynamic, international environment.
  • You are eligible to work in the Netherlands.
